Financial Supervisor, Revenue and Tax Compliance
Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of
pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and
detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Financial Supervisor,
Revenue and Tax Compliance position. Fike is a privately held
business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees
locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.
Job Summary:
The Financial Supervisor, Revenue and Tax Compliance provides
guidance and oversight to the accounting portion of Order to Cash
and tax filing processes. This includes tax exemption management,
indirect tax (SALT), direct federal and state tax payments,
customer invoicing, and cash application. The Supervisor will be a
key member of the Finance Operations leadership team ensuring the
timely and accurate posting of transactional activity. This role
will serve as a subject matter expert on state sales and use tax
regulations, various operational accounting systems, analyzing
transactional activity, and undertaking process improvement
projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Designs, executes, and reviews Fike Corporation's domestic
(U.S.) indirect tax compliance and other provincial taxes as
assigned.
2. Files monthly, quarterly and annual tax payments for both direct
and indirect tax.
3. Reconciles data between the company's ERP system and the
company's tax software to ensure completeness and accuracy of
returns.
Supports reconciliation of tax liability accounts.
4. Serves as a subject matter expert on state tax regulations
related to tax exemptions. Have a detailed knowledge of the various
document requirements and work with cross-functional teams to
ensure strict adherence to documentation compliance.
5. Analyzes transactional data to identify tax code issues or
inefficiencies and develop resolution strategies for
improvements.
6. Supports the billing and reconciliation for intercompany
activity between various related entities.
7. Ensures accurate and timely month end deliverables related to
Accounts Receivable, intercompany, and tax related
transactions.
8. Acts as key member of state tax audit activity. Ensure timely
and accurate responses to state audit teams.
9. Reports month-end transaction summaries to the Finance
department leadership.
10. Manages current tax registrations and licenses and support new
registrations related to growth and creation of new entities.
11. Aids in management of item tax codes, reviewing existing codes
for potential issues with changing tax regulations, aiding in
assignment of tax codes to new items.
12. Supports the year-end annual financial audit process by
providing requested documentation to the company's auditors,
answering transactional inquires or follow up questions to
documents provided.
13. Leads and supports various Accounts Receivable, tax or
intercompany related projects in order to meet annual department
goals.
14. Actively reviews processes for ways to increase efficiency,
improve internal controls, and create process documentation for
best practices.
15. Assists in the strategy, design, and delivery of the new ERP
financial system related to accounts receivable transactions and
necessary supporting systems.
16. Provides technical support to the Accounts Receivable team and
other various users of related systems.
17. Assists in special projects as requested by Management or other
duties as assigned.
18. Prepares and distributes reports as assigned.
19. Supports the daily execution of key transactional processes as
a backup to other team members including billing, credit memo
issuance, cash application, and other as required.
19. Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed.
Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent

Job Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or
related field. Five years or more of experience in Accounting or
Finance at a large multinational corporation. Recent experience as
a leader of Accounts Receivable or Tax team. Strong math aptitude
and ability to work accurately with numbers. Ability to work with
large data sets. Experience with an enterprise business system and
Microsoft Office, strong Microsoft Excel skills.
PREFERRED: Previous supervisor experience of Accounts Receivable,
Accounts Payable, or General Ledger teams. Exposure to JDE,
SalesForce, or Rootstock business systems.
