Job Description Job Description Vertical Mill Machinist Pay Rate
- $24 - $28/hr. Job Description Join a dynamic team in a small to
medium-sized machine shop as a Vertical Mill Machinist. Your
expertise will contribute to our efficient and precise
manufacturing processes. Responsibilities Complete machine
start-up, evaluation, and checks for mills, lathes, and surface
grinders. Perform complex set-up and material accommodation. Run
and execute programs created by others, and perform adjustments or
modifications at the machine as needed. Provide feedback on feeds
and speeds for optimization. Create rudimentary programs at the
machine to complete basic functions. Perform all required quality
checks, both intermediate and final. Identify machine feedback
indicating maintenance or issues. Operate all equipment in the
machine shop, regardless of brand, type, or condition. Mentor less
experienced operators. Maintain cleanliness and organization of
equipment and work area. Wear proper clothing and PPE at all times.
Assist other work areas as needed. Be punctual and present during
all scheduled working hours. Handle physical tasks, including
lifting up to 65 lbs. Work off-shift hours, including Saturdays, as
required. Essential Skills 3 years of vertical mill experience.
Expertise in machine set-up. Ability to read a tape measure
accurately down to 1/32". Proficient in using and demonstrating
proper use of a caliper. Capability to convert fractions to decimal
equivalents and vice versa. Ability to follow and execute both oral
and written instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with lathe, Okuma, Hurco, and Matsuura equipment. Why

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 -
$28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may
depend on your job classification and length of employment.
