Job Description Job Description Job Title: HVAC/Plumbing –Skilled Lead Technician Location: DeSoto, KS Pay Range: Starting pay $35/hr (DOE) Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC/Plumbing Lead Technician to join our growing residential and light commercial service team. This role requires a seasoned professional who can handle advanced diagnostics, repairs, and installations with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can manage full-cycle service calls—from assessment and quoting to completion and client communication. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced diagnostics, service, and installation for HVAC systems (heating, cooling, ventilation). Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, including water heaters, gas lines, fixtures, and piping. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals accurately. Independently run service calls from start to finish, ensuring professional communication with clients. Accurately quote and complete jobs on time while adhering to all local codes and safety standards. Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle in safe, organized working conditions. Collaborate with other team members or subcontractors as needed on larger projects. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in both HVAC and plumbing systems. Proven ability to diagnose complex issue s and make sound, independent decisions. Strong customer service and communication skills. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. EPA Certification and relevant state licensing preferred (or ability to obtain). Experience with light construction equipment such as skid steers or mini excavators a plus. Military or farm background is a strong bonus—valued for work ethic, reliability, and versatility. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly. Comfortable working in confined spaces, attics, and crawlspaces. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the workday. Tolerance for working in extreme temperatures (heat or cold). Tools & Equipment Candidates should be proficient with and supply: HVAC tools: gauges, meters, vacuum pumps, recovery machines. Plumbing tools: pipe cutters, soldering/brazing torches, threaders. General tools: hand/power tools, light construction equipment (skid steer, mini excavator, trailer).
