Internal Medicine /Family Practice Physician- Medical Director Kansas City KS
Part time or Full time

We are looking for an experienced Physician to join our practice in Kansas about 40 miles N of Kansas City. We are seeking a compassionate provider to be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible in our Rehab Hospital/care facility. The Physician will be providing coverage either as our hospitalist-based physician in a part time capacity or Full time in a dual position as a Hospitalist and as our medical director position. The medical director position involves oversight of practice management when working with mid-level providers, as well as other clinical and non-clinical staff, along with their clinical responsibilities.

Rotational schedule with another provider covering 7 on 7 off (or a combination of days split with other providers). Shifts ranging from 5-8 hours (dependent on efficiency). This position offers excellent work-life balance with flexible starting and ending times in lieu of a 12-hr. shift requirement. As census ramps you will have APP support and a scribe to assist with documentation as well as partnership track opportunity. The physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients in a patient centered compassionate environment as a part of a cohesive interdisciplinary clinical team.
Responsibilities:

• History and Physical Exams- Examine patients and their medical records, pertinent documents/imaging/labs/test
• Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
• Review and approve rehabilitation care plans as needed
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team and patient care conferences
• Diagnosis, management and treatment of acute episodic illnesses and stable chronic conditions, evaluation of current therapies, health maintenance, health promotion, illness prevention education and counseling, and management of urgent care matters
• Prescribe medications
• Write referrals and consult other physicians for comprehensive patient care
• Maintain accurate records and schedules- Establishes and maintains a system for tracking and coordinating the designated patient caseload and their progress throughout the entire acute or chronic episode of care
• Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
• Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention- teaching and counseling to patients and families
• Collaboration with the healthcare team- Monitors, evaluates, and communicates relevant data regarding clinical problems consulting physicians and appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team
• Oversee patients' overall health- identify opportunities for each patient's needs relative to his/her age, Monitors progress of patients and collaborates with other team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Identifies and addresses potential deterrents to compliance with treatment regime.
• Advance professional knowledge and conduct research
• Follows up with patients if they are discharged to assess if needs are being met and determines if additional follow-up care is required.
• Assure the provision of patient services while on duty
• Collaborate closely with the leadership regarding operational policies and procedures that may impact patient care
• Attend monthly meetings as required
• Review and approve rehabilitation care plans as needed and actively participate in interdisciplinary team and patient care conferences Skills:
  • Valid Medical license in KS
  • MD/DO BCBE in Internal Medicine or Family Practice Physician
  • Federal DEA and possess or eligible for Kansas Controlled Substance Certificate.
  • ACLS Certified
  • Hospitalist experience preferred Schedule:
    • Full time or Part time
    • Flexible shifts in a 7 on 7 off rotation. (5-8 Hours per Day) Salary (range):
      • $400,000+ for Full time (Compensation with Med Director Stipend, Shift pay and bonuses is well over $400K) Benefits:
