Job Description:

Position OverviewProject Manager is responsible for applying effective project management practices and procedures to assigned jobs in order to align project objectives with business goals. You will be responsible for maintaining profit objectives over multiple projects, and making key decisions and recommendations on projects from the pre-planning phase through closeout. The position will establish a close relationship with customers in order to generate a steady flow of new project business. You will be involved in preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, developing and managing project budgets and schedules, and providing strong leadership and direct supervision to project teams (Field Supervisors, Crew Foreman, Crew Members, Project Assistants, etc). The Project Manager is relied upon heavily to demonstrate dedication to safety and quality control within our projects. This individual shall at all times uphold the foundational goals of MUTI - "Client Service, Quality, and Safety" - to enhance the integrity that the organization has become known for.Essential Job DutiesManage company projects from beginning to end, ensuring all projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints that you establish and approve for each of your assigned jobsTake responsibility for establishing project objectives, procedures, SOW, performance standards, timelines, budgets, material requirements, equipment needs, etc., and ensure all projects adhere to the objectives. Develop and follow through on project plan, especially timelines and budget.Adhere to and maintain, as an average, acceptable levels of margin on all projects managed, through effective use of crew hours, creating efficiencies for crews, cost control, etc.Communicate as necessary with a range of individuals from Crew Members, Crew Foreman, Field Supervisors, Senior Managers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc.Communicate with MUTI field crews on existing projects, in order to maintain project status updates and continue to develop leadership and problem solving skills within the field crews.Communicate with MUTI Foremen to convey all customer and MUTI requirements in order to ensure that the project is completed in a timely and cost efficient mannerMaintain and complete all assigned project documents, in accordance with the MUTI established guidelines.Continuance and new establishment of working relationships with customers that are awarding work to MUTI. Coordination, management, and development of business within the assigned geographic area.Travel with overnight stays to visit MUTI active job sites and customers on regular basis.Reviewing and completing project closeout procedures, internal and external, with field crews and project management.Work with MUTI Foremen to complete all project paperwork and to develop knowledge of project requirements.Conduct regular Quality Control Inspections prior to field crews leaving the respective sites.Adhere to all MUTI procedures and policies for bidding, tracking, invoicing, and follow-up on the MUTI Project Management software.Delegate work, as necessary, to the assigned Project Assistant in order to efficiently complete the tasks associated with project bid, active work, and closeout.Participation in weekly crew/project development conference call to convey scheduling and material needs for the upcoming week's work.Daily communications with customers and MUTI Management Team via phone or email to ensure complete knowledge and understanding of customers' current and upcoming projects.Promote proper business casual dress attire to portray a positive and professional image to the customer and MUTI co-workers.Assist MUTI with special projects as requested by Supervisor.Qualifications/ Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering or related field of study plus 2 to 5 years of relative experience managing construction projectsPMP certification or equivalent through PMI or similar professional/educational instituteStrong knowledge of project management principles and procedures, as they apply to MUTI and the telecommunications industryDemonstrated ability to manage complex construction related projectsProven experience managing a number of projects totaling $15-$20 million in annual revenueCan work in a collaborative, team-based environmentAbility to set goals and expectations and hold others accountable, while being able to also encourage and mentor others; demonstrates skills in coordination of field personnel and resourcesProfessional presentation in speech and appearance.Ability to communicate information through speech and in writing to be easily understood by all personnelKnowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning.Leadership training and development.Ability to stay abreast of MUTI, industry, and customer standards.Ability to stay abreast of industry trends.Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle report in order to be an insured company driver.Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.MUTI Issued EquipmentCredit card, cellular phone, camera, computerCompany vehicle for business use and limited personal useSupport MaterialsEvaluationThe Project Manager is evaluated on performance of essential job duties, ability to maintain qualifications/requirements and compliance with all MUTI Policies and Procedures.
