Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/17/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with night shifts and strong intermediate care skills. Responsibilities Work in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15 Care for a diverse patient population including stroke, heart failure, respiratory failure, post-surgical, and renal failure cases Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities based on staffing needs Epic is used for charting and EMR documentation Required to work 8 weekend shifts during each 6-week schedule period Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be assigned as needed Responsibilities include caring for a variety of medical and surgical patients requiring telemetry and higher level monitoring Frequent interactions with Rapid Response Teams and emergency management protocols are expected Participate in care of patients with diagnoses including SI, ETOH withdrawal, COVID, flu, Cdiff, TIA, falls, and GIB Orientation includes pre-start modules and facility-specific online training, with additional modules completed during orientation No on-call requirements A maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is permitted Drug screening and compliance labs must be completed promptly as part of pre-employment requirements No travel partners are accepted for this assignment First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience, including at least 1 year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year Certifications required: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferred LTAC experience required Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, rapid response, and central/PICC line management Demonstrated skills in pre/post hemodialysis management, feeding tube care, and wound care including wound vac use Ability to manage cardiac drips (no titration), heparin protocols, and high-flow oxygen therapies Experience in Epic EMR preferred Two professional references required, one must be at a supervisor level or above from within the past year Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620626.
