Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Lees Summit, MO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,171 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Lees Summit, Missouri, 64086! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRPS Must-Have: Ability to work a minimum of 2 Sunday night shifts and 2 Friday day shifts per 6-week schedule Description: RN/L&D ratios are 1:1 for both days and nights. The average daily census is between 7 to 10 patients. The unit has 28 rooms and 33 beds. Experience in Labor and Delivery is required. First-time travelers are not accepted. Weekend commitment is 4-5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period. Weekends are defined as Friday and Saturday nights for night shift. Clinicians may be required to float within scope to meet facility needs. Providers may float to the postpartum unit for couplet care or care for postpartum patients only. Agency staff with LDRP experience are preferred but LD/LDR experience is also considered. The L&D unit houses antepartum and intrapartum patients. The unit features 11 labor rooms and 5 triage rooms. Postpartum and post-operative patients are accommodated in the same unit. Assignments are based on patient acuity according to staffing standards. Patient-to-nurse ratios typically are 1:1 but can change based on acuity. Basic skills in antepartum care and various labor and delivery procedures are required. Special procedures include various high-risk deliveries and management techniques for abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Experience with telemetry interpretation and use of external and internal fetal monitoring is essential. Administering and managing various medications and treatments, including IVs and blood products, are part of the role. Neonatal resuscitation and lactation support are also within the scope of responsibilities. Staff may need to assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections when required. Knowledge of postpartum care, including recovery from delivery and postpartum hemorrhage, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate competency with the use of specialized medical equipment related to labor and delivery. Compliance with policies and procedures, including infection control practices, is mandatory.
