Teaching hospital experience preferred Description: We are seeking
an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join
our team. This role involves caring for patients with various types
of cancer throughout all phases of treatment. The nurse will
administer inpatient chemotherapy regimens and provide
post-operative care for surgical patients. The patient-to-nurse
ratio will be 1:5. The ideal candidate must have 2 years of recent
oncology nursing experience. Experience with IV therapy, infusions,
and managing oncologic emergencies is crucial. Nurses will also
support psychosocial care, including advanced directives and
patient/family education. Knowledge and skills in symptom
management, pain management, and post-surgical care are necessary.
Regular floating may be required between departments to meet
facility needs. The position requires weekend coverage of 8 shifts
within a 6-week schedule. Candidates should be comfortable handling
various oncologic diagnoses and managing chemotherapy-related side
effects. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well
within an interdisciplinary team are essential. Nurses will be
expected to manage complications such as sepsis, acute tumor lysis
syndrome, and extravasation injuries. Familiarity with charting
systems is preferred. Training and compliance modules will need to
