As a leader in children’s health, we engage in meaningful programs and partnerships throughout the region so that we can improve the lives of children beyond the walls of our hospital. /n/nOverview:/n This Lab Tech 2 position is responsible for providing high quality customer service to ensure timely and accurate specimen handling throughout the respective laboratory sections, includes internal and external customers (i.e. clients, physicians, patient care services staff, allied health staff care services personnel and DPLM coworkers) while working in a fast-paced environment. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources. /n/nResponsibilities:/n - Specimen handling and distribution - Use of Information Systems - Specimen collection (phlebotomy and SWCL) in accordance with CMH policies and procedures as applicable. - Customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with CMH shared values and service excellence programs - Performance of waived to moderate complexity testing and reporting; and/or specimen processing and preparation under appropriate supervision, following in-depth training and competency assessment procedures (as assigned). - Maintains general operations of the laboratory performs quality assurance activities /n/nQualifications:/n - Associate's Degree or Equivalent of 60 hours of college credits including biological science and 1-2 years experience phlebotomy or lab experience; student lab experience may be considered or /n/nBenefits at Children's Mercy:/n The benefits plans at Children’s Mercy are one of many reasons we are recognized as one of the best places to work in Kansas City.
