Job Description Medical Technologist (ASCP) – Full-Time – Evenings or Nights (Weekends Only) Kansas City, Kansas Looking for a stable, full-time Blood Bank opportunity with a respected acute care hospital? Join a collaborative laboratory team where your expertise truly makes an impact. We are hiring a Medical Technologist (ASCP) for a full-time position offering: • Evening Shift – 40 hours/week • Night Shift – Thursday–Sunday (32 hours/week) • Weekends Only Schedule Available This is a 190-bed acute care hospital serving the Kansas City region with advanced services in cancer care, women’s services, robotic surgery, bariatrics, rehabilitation, and more. You’ll work alongside experienced physicians and clinical teams dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care. Job Responsibilities: • Perform pre-analytic duties including specimen collection, processing, clerical work, and data entry • Conduct waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing on blood and body fluids (CLIA 1988 standards) • Report and verify results; investigate unexpected findings • Monitor and document quality control • Maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment • Correlate abnormal lab data with pathologic states • Assist with training and mentoring lab personnel and students • Participate in performance improvement initiatives Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science required • ASCP Certification required (MT/MLS or specialty equivalent) • Minimum 1 year of recent Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital lab (required – non-acute care experience will not be considered) Interested!?
