Job Description:

Experis is hiring a Workday Tech Lead for our health services firm that services federal employees. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity based in the Kansas City metro (Lee's Summit, MO). This position will work to define technical solutions for our business teams utilizing the Workday platform, and provides technical guidance to systems analysts, developers and other team members. The primary responsibility is to be a technical partner with HR and Finance teams and lead the Workday Integration team with new and ongoing integration support. This person will work closely with the Workday Product Manager and the business community to understand and define business requirements not only for Workday, but for all systems that support HR, Finance and workforce management functions. They will then translate the business requirements into system requirements and design specifications. The technical lead will also play an active role in ensuring the identification and creation of all necessary design and technical documentation. This position will act in a technical leadership capacity on projects assigned to them and will be responsible for ensuring management is kept current on project status and milestone deliverables. This position will also assist in post implementation support and system enhancements as well as resolving complex performance tuning. Principal Accountabilities Work closely with our Workday Product Manager to contribute to the ongoing design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of the Workday modules including HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Benefits and others Manage the process of changing existing Workday integrations and creating new ones based upon business need Production support for existing Workday inbound and outbound integrations by providing breakfix analysis, regression testing, and data analysis for data integrity issues Stay current with Workday new functionality delivered in the routine updates. Review with the business and help drive the deployment of new features Provide leadership and participate in analyzing, designing, testing and bringing to production system integrations within the Workday realm including but not limited to, finance, recruiting, benefit providers, healthcare management and others Translate business requirements into system requirements, design specifications and document new andor existing application requirements. Ensure that new or existing systems meet business requirements and practices and that all application interface issuesconcerns are understood, documented and addressed satisfactorily Work with technical team to ensure optimal technical design for our environment and integration methods and tools Work with technical team to ensure optimal technical design for our environment and integration methods and tools Prepares estimates for complex projects to provide management with information needed to accurately forecast project delivery dates Assist project team with unit testing. Develop system test plans and perform full system testing prior to implementation For assigned projects, responsible for managing all aspects of the development lifecycle including but not limited to status updates, definition and tracking of project milestones, system design, and tracking of deliverables including resource allocation Support a Request for Proposal (RFP) process for software purchases, evaluating the results and providing recommendations to upper management and the business Monitor and resolve performance tuning issues either via working directly with third party support or the case management process EducationExperienceKnowledge 8-10 years of programming experience 5 years of experience defining, designing, and implementing HR and Finance applications with Workday Strong technical background covering a variety of platforms, databases, and coding languages Strong technical Workday skills Knowledge of Workday implementation tools (Enterprise interface builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, and DTS) Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards) Have an understanding of Workday's security model and best practices Comfortable working with third party solutions on data mapping and integration implementation Excellent communication (oral and written) skills for effective communication with team members and IT Leaders Provides expert level IT technical lead services and direction for critical software, middleware, andor hardware projects (e.g., applications, networks, communications, and client server technologies) on multiple platforms. Provides technical expertise in systems, technical infrastructure, tools, modeling, external interfaces, and other technical areas. Completes complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities. Ensures the viability of IT deliverables. Recommends development options, including design, buildbuy, and vendor purchase. Approves the team's technical deliverables. Conducts testing, including functionality, technical limitations, and security. Approves technical solutions proposed by team members. Elevates complex technical issues to IT experts, including architects and vendors. Resolves technical problems discovered by testers and internal clients. Responds to and resolves technical issues in a timely manner. Researches issues and performs root cause analysis. Communicates with project manager andor business stakeholders on a frequent basis. Identifies tasks and issues that may have an impact on service levels or schedules. Provides realistic task and cost estimates. May participate in screening resumes of team members, interviews, makes hiring and assignment recommendations, and writes reviews. Reviews and approves documentation and diagrams created by IT team members (e.g., system specifications). Writes documentation, including technical standards and processes. Participates in design, code, and test inspections throughout product life cycle to identify issues. Participates as a technical consultant at other project meetings.
