Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:

The Procurement Specialist will conduct and monitor several aspects of BioPharma R&D procurement as described in "Essential Job Duties".

This is a Full-time position with the following schedule: Mon-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm, with overtime as needed.

Please note: Viracor is relocating to our new facility in Lenexa, KS in March 2022

Essential Job Duties
Collaborate with Supply Chain Director and Operations Manager for process adherence (and at times process improvement) for proper documentation, shipping conditions and storage receipt of materials for R&D.
Draft Bill of Materials (BOM) for each new BP R&D project with information from the lead scientist, Scientific Affairs Liaison, BP Ops Manager or contracting group.
Coordinate with NSC to obtain pricing and availability information for BOM and follow up with Eurofins-Viracor Buyer to receive tracking updates.
Draft and submit purchase order requests.
Obtain certificates of analysis and properly store these.
Actively track orders to the point that the recipient has received them.
Proactively keep scientists informed of order status.
Train and utilize Coupa for purchasing information and messaging.
Coordinate with receiving department and ensure appropriate storage of ordered items.
Analyze and share summaries with management on monthly Coupa BP R&D purchasing reports.
Collaborate with BP R&D Lab Operations Manager and Supply Chain Director in monitoring supplier performance with purchasing report metrics and recognizing trends.
Collaborate with Scientific Affairs Leader and Eurofins National Service Center (NSC) to discover the lead time for procurement for all materials needed for completion of R&D projects.
Collaborate with Eurofins-Viracor BP Purchasing department and Eurofins-Viracor Receiving department and other members as necessary for completion of orders.
Maintain accurate GDP documentation according to Eurofins-Viracor regulatory guidelines.
Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes at all times.
Other duties as assigned by management.


Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School diploma or above.
Preference for 1-2 years of experience in purchasing or clinical laboratory testing environment.
Competence with MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role
Ability to problem solve, prioritize and multi-task
Ability to read and interpret internal SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Self-motivated and driven; works independently with guidance from management as needed
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Process-oriented with the ability to apply critical thinking
Service driven with a professional attitude
Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to collaborate and work effectively with associates at all levels
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Keenly attentive to detail
Ability to keep sensitive information confidential

Physical Requirements
Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
